Keene, NH- On Friday Governor Hassan addressed a sold out crowd at the Keene Country club for a Civic luncheon arranged by the Greater Keene Chamber of Commerce.
During her speech the Governor explained how New Hampshire is in better shape than many states when it comes to bouncing back from the recession and touched on a number of other topics.
Among those discussed by Governor Hassan was her hopes of legalized casino gambling so the state may see its first casino, something Hassan has said numerous times will boost the state’s economy. The Governor also spoke on her recently proposed budget, something that she calls “fair and fiscally responsible”; despite the negative criticism she’s received for including $ 80 million dollars in casino revenue, which might not even come to fruition.
The Governor also told the crowd that restoration of funding for higher education is a must to ensure affordable education for the state’s skilled workforce of the future.
