Congresswoman Kuster Gives Explanation For Falling Behind On Her Taxes.

MANCHESTER, NH - On Monday Congresswoman Anne Kuster said she had no excuse for falling behind in paying the property tax  on her  two New Hampshire homes.
Since news of this broke last week that Kuster owed around $11,000.00 in property taxes, and has since paid off the entire balance off in full, she has become the subject of attack ads by the National Republican Congressional Committee saying Kuster living by her own set of rules.
Speaking with WMUR-TV Manchester Kuster said “As the story came out we got behind on a couple of our payments.” Kuster went on to tell the Manchester’s Channel 9,   “I regret it. I apologized for it last week and wished it hadn’t happened.”
When asked why she and her husband had fallen behind over the past three years in making payments Kuster said, “The reality is we fell behind .There’s no excuse for it, I don’t have an excuse, I don’t want to come up with some grand explanation .The reality is that I take responsibility for it. I can’t change what happened. What I can do is make sure the taxes are paid in full, and they are.”
Kuster also said she regrets that the late payments have recently started to characterize her as being out of touch.
