KEENE, NH- A Westmoreland woman is now facing a misdemeanor charge of filing a False Police report after claiming a Keene man sexually assaulted and robbed her.
According to Police on January 8th 35 year old David Wambolt of Keene was arrested on charges of Aggravated Felonious Sexual Assault, Strong–arm Robbery, as well as Conspiracy to purchase a controlled drug and failing to comply with the Sexual Offender Registration law.
As the authorities continued to investigate claims made by the alleged victim 28 year old Ashley L. Brideau of Westmoreland, Police discovered that details in the case had become increasingly questionable. As result the Sexual Assault and Robbery charges filed against Wambolt were withdrawn while the other charges of Conspiracy to purchase a controlled drug and failing to comply with the Sexual Offender Registration law and an unrelated charge of violating a Protective Order remained in place.
On January 22nd Police arrested and charged Brideau with filing a False Report to Law Enforcement, and also held her on an outstanding Bench Warrant from July of 2012 when she failed to appear in court on a Motor Vehicle charge. As result Brideau is currently being held on $400.00 cash bail and will appear before an 8th Circuit Court Judge on January 23rd.
