Rindge Woman Answers To Drunk Driving Charge.



KEENE, NH- A Rindge woman admits she was driving while intoxicated when her truck hit a tree in Jaffrey killing her boyfriend.
Appearing in court via a video link, 34 year old Nichole Oates of Rindge faced a charge of negligent homicide and a charge aggravated driving while intoxicated.
During the arraignment Oates admitted she consumed a number of alcoholic beverages before she and 34 year old Daniel Peard of Jaffrey left a Fitzwilliam restaurant returning home Saturday evening.
Prosecutors say Oates was driving along the Fitzwilliam road when she lost control of her vehicle and hit a tree, while Oates was reportedly wearing her seatbelt at the time of the accident Peard was not and as result died at the scene.
The Judge overseeing the case ordered Oates be held on $5000.00 bail and not use alcohol or operate a motor vehicle. Oates is due back in court for a probable cause hearing on January 16th.
