MANCHESTER,NH- A freelance journalist who calls New Hampshire home has been taken captive for a second time.
The family of 39 year old James Foley of Rochester says he was kidnapped by an unknown gunman while on assignment in Syria in November. As result Foley's family says they're trying to increase public awareness of his kidnapping in hopes he'll be released unharmed by his captors.
In a statement released Wednesday Foley's father John said "We want Jim to come safely home,or at least we need to speak with him to know he's OK." Foley also said "Jim is an objective journalist,and we appeal for the release of Jim unharmed".
Both Senators Ayotte and Shaheen have taken active roles in helping the Foley family by establishing contact with both the State Department and FBI regarding Foley's status.

In 2011 James Foley was one of three journalists held captive by forces loyal to Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi
