Airport shut down after grenade found in Wayne Coyne's bag

An airport was temporarily shut down after officials allegedly found what appeared to be a grenade in Flaming Lips frontman Wayne Coyne's luggage.

Coyne was at Oklahoma City's Will Rogers Airport last week on his way to Los Angeles when his bag was seized and searched by security officials, according to reports. The incident left many late for their flights.

"Sorry Sorry Sorry!! Everyone that was inconvenienced because of my grenade at OKC airport!!" he Tweeted after the incident.

According to an Oklahoma City police report, Coyne "was given [the grenade] at a party in Arkansas on November 4, 2012. He advised it was a grenade but said it was dead and was painted."

A bomb unit confirmed that the device was a dud. He was then released and cleared to go.
