Whitney Houston has landed a posthumous world record after 12 of her tracks rocketed into the U.K. chart following her death in February.

Fans flocked to buy the superstar's back cataloge in the days after her bathtub death in a suite at the Beverly Hilton hotel in Los Angeles on 11 February.

Twelve of her tracks entered the chart in Britain - and the feat has landed Houston a posthumous entry into the Guinness World Records - for Most Simultaneous Hits on U.K. Singles Chart by a Solo Female, an honor previously bestowed upon late singer Amy Winehouse, following her death last year.

Meanwhile, Adele is a big winner in the 2013 edition of the book - she toppled Eminem to score the record for Fastest to Reach Digital Sales of One Million in the U.S. for her album 21, while the record also landed her the Biggest-selling Digital Album in U.S. and U.K. title. The British soul sensation added to her honours by also claiming the Biggest-selling Digital Track in a Calendar Year (U.S.) with Rolling In The Deep.

Other new music entries in the collection include Justin Bieber (First Ever Solo Artist to Have Three No. 1 U.S. and U.K. Albums Before the Age of 18) and Jay-Z and Beyonce's eight-month-old daughter Blue Ivy - the tot has landed the Youngest Chart Entrant accolade after her newborn cries were featured on her father's track Glory earlier this year.

Madonna bagged the Biggest TV Audience for Super Bowl Half-time Show entry - her sporting gig in February was viewed by 114 million viewers.

In the world of film, The Hangover Part II was named the Highest Grossing Comedy Ever, with more than $566 million in takings at the box office, while Christopher Plummer landed the Oldest Oscar Winner title - he was awarded his first Academy Award this year at the age of 82. (CL/PR/KL)
