Pop star Britney Spears has opened up about her relationship with fiance Jason Trawick, revealing she was the one to make the first move.

Spears became engaged to her former agent when he proposed last December, but it was actually the "Toxic" hitmaker who sparked the romance by hitting on Trawick in 2009.

In a new joint interview with America's Elle magazine, Trawick recalls, "It was kind of one of those things where she moved, like, turned around, so we were face-to-face and then..."

Spears then interrupts him, insisting, "OK, that's enough information, sweetie. It was sweet, just say that."

The singer also admits she is now better equipped at dealing with false stories about her love life, adding, "I guess I've been under the microscope so long that I don't even pay attention to the nonsense anymore. I gave up getting upset about things people make up about me a long time ago."
