Matt Bellamy helped Kate Hudson through childbirth

Rocker Matt Bellamy proved to be a hands-on dad before his son Bingham was even born, by helping his fiancee Kate Hudson deliver their baby when she went into labor.

The couple became proud parents in July last year when the "Almost Famous" star gave birth to their first child together.

Now Bellamy has revealed he was determined to witness every second of the life-changing moment - even though Hudson wanted him kept away from the delivery room.

The Muse frontman tells Q magazine, "Oh yeah, I was there at the birth. I was watching the whole thing. I was holding her leg up when she pushed him out. She didn't want me to watch but I was in there, getting my hands dirty, so to speak."

Hudson, daughter of Hollywood legend Goldie Hawn, also has an eight-year-old son, Ryder, with her rocker ex-husband Chris Robinson.
