KEENE, NH- Construction on Keene’s latest Roundabout is just about complete.
The roundabout, which connects Court street and Old Walpole Road with Maple Avenue and Route 12-A received its final coat of pavement Monday evening,and was finished a little after 2am Tuesday morning.
While a lot of residents are still questioning the need for a 4th traffic circle, City officials say not only will it ease traffic to and from the new middle school but also cut down on the number of accidents in the area. As prior to the construction of the latest roundabout that intersection had been the location of numerous accidents.
Though Motorists aren’t out of the woods yet, as according to the giant light up sign on Maple Ave heading towards the circle warns drivers of night work planned for Thursday August 23rd; according to the posted sign work will get underway at 7pm and last till 4am on the 24th.
