Rick Springfield gets probation in DUI plea deal

Rocker Rick Springfield has avoided a jail sentence for drink driving after reaching a plea deal with prosecutors.

The "Jessie's Girl" singer faced up to six months behind bars after he was arrested in Los Angeles last year on suspicion of two counts of DUI.

He pleaded not guilty to the misdemeanours, but has since agreed to plead no contest to reckless driving in exchange for  authorities dropping the other charges.

Springfield will spend three years on probation and he has been ordered to attend a two-month traffic program as punishment, according to TMZ
