Singer Mike Eli became a first-time father on Monday after his wife Kacey gave birth to a baby girl.

Kline Olivia Diaz was born in Dallas, Texas weighing six pounds, 15 ounces, and the new parents are delighted with their daughter.

The Eli Young Band frontman tells People.com, "They tell you about this feeling that is beyond comparison... and the moment Kacey and I laid our eyes on little Kline we understood it's absolutely the coolest thing ever!"

Eli's time with his newborn will be limited - the band is resuming tour dates in the U.S. from next Thursday. (CL/WNWCPL/LR)
