Jacksons heading home to Indiana to mark Michael's birthday

Michael Jackson's mother Katherine and the singer's three children will put a family feud behind them to return to Indiana to mark what would have been the pop superstar's 54th birthday.

The famous family has hit headlines in recent weeks after matriarch Katherine was reported missing while taking a break in Arizona amid a fall-out between relatives.

She later lost full guardianship of her grandchildren after a court appointed her nephew, TJ, to help take care of Michael's children Prince, Paris and Blanket.

However, the Jacksons will put on a united front by flying from California to the former family home in Gary, Indiana for a candlelit vigil on 29 August - the day of the Thriller hitmaker's birthday.

Katherine will reportedly attend the tribute, titled Goin' Back to Indiana: Can You Feel It?, along with Michael's kids.

A statement posted on the event's Facebook.com page reads, "Mayor Karen Freeman-Wilson and Mrs. Katherine Jackson cordially invite you to the Jackson hometown of Gary, Indiana to remember the life and legacy of the King of Pop, Michael Jackson."
