Toby Keith's publicist has confirmed reports the country singer has been invited to join Mariah Carey as a judge on the new season of "American Idol."

The "Beer For My Horses" hitmaker was offered the chance of replacing Steven Tyler on the panel - but he has turned producers down.

His rep tells CountryWeekly.com that Keith was "flattered", but felt the gig wasn't for him.

New reports suggest Brad Paisley, Nick Jonas and rapper Pharrell Williams are also on Idol chiefs' wish list.
