Man punches girlfriend over Facebook photo of Mitt Romney

Apparently not everyone is as tuned in to the race for president as you might think.

A Claxton Tennessee man, who suspected his girlfriend of having an affair with a man whose photo was on her Facebook page has been charged with domestic abuse after allegedly punching her in the face, Mediaite reports. The photo was of presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney.

According to the Anderson County Sheriff's Department, after seeing the photo of Romney on his live-in girlfriend's Facebook page, Lowell Turpin, 40, "angrily demanded to know who the male was." When Turpin thought his girlfriend was attempting to communicate with someone on Facebook, he tossed her laptop against the wall and punched her in the face.

Turpin remains in custody in the Anderson County Jail.
