Tim McGraw pays tribute to cinema massacre victims

Country music star Tim McGraw halted his show in Denver, Colorado on Saturday night to honor the victims of a midnight cinema massacre which took place just miles away the previous day.

The singer was in town with tourmate Kenny Chesney for their Brothers of the Sun tour stop, and he couldn't complete his set without taking time to open his heart about the tragedy in Aurora, which claimed the lives of 12 film fans and left 58 others injured.

He said, "I'm thinking about y'all and we're praying for y'all. Our job tonight is to come out here for just a little while and put a smile on your face, to cut loose, have a good time and have a party in remembrance of the fine, fine folks who lost their lives a couple of days ago."

He then launched into Petra's Christian rock song "More Power to Ya."

James Holmes appeared in court in Centennial, Colorado on Monday morning, when he was officially told he is being held on suspicion of first-degree murder.

Holmes allegedly opened fire on cinemagoers watching a midnight screening of "The Dark Knight Rises" on Friday.
