Ozzy Osbourne pays off chunk of tax debt

Rocker Ozzy Osbourne and his wife Sharon have handed over more than $700,000 to tax officials in a bid to settle their $1.7 million debt.

The couple was hit with the lien by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) last year for outstanding invoices dating as far back as 2007, but the stars recently managed to pay off a chunk of the bill and are working to settle the remaining amount, according to documents obtained by TMZ.

After news of their tax troubles serviced, Sharon insisted she would take better care to stay "on top" of her finances and business affairs.
