Suspect: "They Made Me Do It!"

Accused Price Chopper Bandit Says He was Forced By Others

KEENE, NH - There may be more to the pre-dawn Wednesday robbery of a Keene supermarket than met the eye.

Police arrested Dillon James Kocsis, 19, of Gilsum almost exactly 13 hours after a lone male relieved a clerk at the Price Chopper Supermarket off Route 9, of an unspecified amount of money.  Subsequent police documentation relats that Kocsis told arresting officers a group of other people forced him to stage the heist.  Police searching for the robber learned from employes of another store in the Monadnock Marketplace that they had seen a black pickup truck near the scene.  It was found, and traced to the father of an 18-year-old man found in a parked car also in the general area.  The father insists his son had nothing to do with the robebry, but gave the name of a former roommate which sounded like Kocsis.  That led police to the suspect.  Police told the Keene Sentinel Kocsis has no previous criminal record...possibly lending credence to his stpory that the robbery was not his idea.
