Voting Rules And Changes Made In The City Of Keene.

KEENE, NH- As resident prepare for Tuesdays general election, those across the city might want to make sure they know not only which ward they fall into but also are aware of the location of their local polling center.
As according to City Clerk Patricia Little all 5 wards in the city were subjected to a redistricting, as result those voting in Ward 1 now go to the Michael E.J Blastos Community room next to the Keene Police station located at 400 Marlboro Street, while those in Ward 2 will vote at the Keene Rec. Center on Washington street, Ward 3 voters will go to the Fuller School; residents in Ward 4 will vote at the Symonds elementary school on Park Avenue. Due to a highly anticipated voter turnout on Tuesday Ward 5 voters will now go to the Keene High School cafeteria, Little says that move was made just for this election.
For those wondering if they should bring some sort of identification when they arrive at a polling center the answer is no, but elections officials are required to ask for some form of identification before a ballot is handed out. For those who choose not to bring ID with them, Little says “The law does provide in lieu of a photo ID (that) a voter can sign a challenged voter affidavit. Or if they’re personally recognized by the moderator, clerk or check list supervisor, that will also gain them access to a ballot.”
As for those who still need to register prior to voting, worry not as residents can register on the same day at all polling centers; those individuals who wish to do so  just need to be able to provide their identity, age residence and citizenship. In the event for whatever reason that would be voter doesn’t have all the required information on them, worry not as all polling centers will have affidavits that will help voters complete the registration process.
