Nashua, NH- Governor Hassan joined volunteers in preparing care packages for American troops currently in Afghanistan.
The packages which were made up of Ramen noodles, Beef jerky, candy and gum were part of an organized effort led by Moore Mart co-founder Paul Moore to mail a total of 1000 boxes to troops currently serving overseas.
Since starting the event seven years ago and already responsible for some 50,000 care packages which have been delivered to men and women stationed overseas, Moore said, "They appreciate the fact that we are thinking of them. They haven't been forgotten and that's a real connection".
Originally started off as a grassroots campaign by Moore Mart which then took off and has seen not only an increase of the amount of donations, but also an increased interested from volunteers and businesses alike.
After stuffing a number of boxes Governor Hassan had nothing but support and respect for the volunteers taking part, saying, " What a great example of what the Granite State does best to mobilize and help the world."
