Dierks Bentley performs surprise gig after axing fundraiser

Dierks Bentley thrilled fans by staging a surprise show with Sheryl Crow in a Tennessee restaurant on Sunday, following the cancellation of a star-studded fundraising concert in Nashville.

The singer was set to oversee the Miles and Music for Kids event - a motorcycle ride and gig - in aid of the Vanderbilt Children's Hospital, but he axed the bash at the last minute after storms hit the area.

However, Bentley ensured fans weren't left disappointed by the cancellation by staging a special performance at the Hard Rock Cafe, featuring Crow, Chris Young and Brantley Gilbert.

He says, "We still had so many fans in town who travelled, sometimes hundreds of miles to help support Vandy's Children's Hospital, I felt like we had to find a way to do something to thank them for their time and donations over the past seven years."

"We decided to run across the street, invite anyone still hanging around and before we knew it, the place was packed out. I still can't believe Sheryl came by... she jumped in her car and came over the minute she heard it was happening."
